The single most important issue we confront in our exploration of consciousness is our ability to create and maintain the ideal mind set. This is why I stress examining our assumptions and beliefs in all my workshops and books.
I believe nothing and question everything!
Why do some people have profound life-changing nonphysical experiences and others confront recurring blocks and issues?
The answer is the mindset of the individual. The greatest block we confront in our explorations of consciousness is our ability to develop the ideal mindset free from fear-based beliefs and indoctrination. Our fears can and will manifest as our limits and obstructions during our inner experiences. This occurs because all nonphysical realities are thought-responsive to some degree. An enlightened mindset raises our internal vibration and allows us to experience and perceive beyond the outer façade of form. Prior to focusing on techniques and philosophies, closely examine your many beliefs and conclusions.
What is the best beginning mindset for my explorations of consciousness?
Purge your mind of all man-made belief systems, philosophies, and fears. Be completely open to all shifts of inner energies. Release all judgement and analysis of your inner experiences and your perceptions of consciousness. Go with the flow and enjoy your unique process as it unfolds for you.
Why is our mindset so important?
During all explorations of consciousness, our mindset continues to be the central creative force of our journey. In an altered state we perceive with our mind; we do not possess physical eyes or ears in nonphysical reality. Recognize that we are entering a highly thought-responsive environment that functions differently than the physical world.
Our mind creates our nonphysical perception capabilities and our limits. It is essential to realize that we are never objective observers during altered states—we are active and creative participants in all our experiences. Every thought and emotion we hold—both conscious and subconscious, positive and negative—influences our perception.
In thought-responsive environments our own subconscious fears can and will appear as form-based projections of reality. For many inner explorers of consciousness, personal fear confrontations continue to be the greatest barrier they confront during their inner explorations.
Taking Action: Creating the Ideal Mindset
Here are some actions you can take to refocus your mindset for explorations with positive outcomes. These are in no particular order as far as timing or usage. Select the points that best resonate with you and keep them as tools to release limiting beliefs.
- Recognize and release personal barriers, blocks, or perceptions which may constrain your growth and development.
- Be open and receptive to a change in your awareness. Welcome a fully aware shift of your consciousness from your dense vehicle and limits to your higher energy self.
- Strongly feel your inner self urging you to explore and experience beyond your dense physical vehicle. You have unlimited capabilities.
- Focus all your energy, attention, and desire on your personal commitment to recognize and experience yourself independent of your physical vehicle.
- Throughout every cell, every tissue, every part of your being, absolutely know and feel that you are a high-energy, nonphysical being. Because you are more than matter, you consciously separate from your dense physical vehicle with ease.
- Recognize that the ideal environment and time for your exploration is today! Now!
- Trust yourself and your abilities—you are a powerful spiritual being with vast creative abilities and can easily explore beyond your temporary physical body.
Can we rely on beliefs?
No! Our best approach is to free our minds of all manmade beliefs and seek the truth of our spiritual existence. It is up to each of us to explore and experience our spiritual essence. One of Jesus's most profound statements is clear, "Seek first the Kingdom of God." He did not say to "Believe in or pray for the Kingdom of God." Pursuing our personal spiritual experiences is absolutely essential in our evolution as soul.
How do belief systems limit our personal growth?
Misrepresenting the reality of our spiritual evolution and our capabilities as soul, many belief systems produce a form of institutional dependency by distorting the truth of our spiritual capabilities.
Through personal experience, we know we are powerful, immortal, spiritual beings directly connected to the Source. We create our reality in every dimension with the focused energy of our thoughts.
Enhance Your Experience: 3 Ways to Clear your Conscious Mind
During any nonphysical exploration, we may experience vibrational state fears, thought forms, energy creations, contact with nonphysical inhabitants, and overall general discomfort with the unknown. The single most productive action we can take is to clear our state of consciousness, as our ability to effectively explore thought-responsive realities is always influenced by our own mind.
Here are three ways to clear your conscious mind and create a higher, more insightful and powerful experience.
- Accept that you are more than your physical body. The only reason you have a gender, race, age, or other physical attribute is to support your earth experience. Your true nonphysical self exists beyond form.
- Realize that any obstacle to your exploration is created by your thoughts. For example, if you believe that evil entities or spiritual traps exist, then you will probably have those encounters. Own your power and know that you create all that you experience. We shape and mold energy in thought-responsive realities.
- Having a personal experience is the very best way to achieve knowledge. Using the stories of others will only place you in a position of following the path of another. Create your own path by taking your own journey. Make it your adventure and have a knowing that comes only from having your own personal experience.
Hypnosis as a method to reprogram our subconscious mind and achieve an altered state
Why is self-hypnosis a tool for self-discovery?
Self-hypnosis provides a powerful tool for self-improvement. Often our fears and limits are subconsciously programmed within us. Internally we may have accepted a rigid concept of ourselves and our abilities. Subconsciously, we may have accepted limits to our abilities and our potential. In a sense we have built walls around ourselves by the beliefs that we hold.
One of the most effective ways to dissolve our self-accepted limits and fear is to confront them directly. Hypnosis gives us the unique ability to access our subconscious mind. We can reprogram our subconscious mind for success in any endeavor including nonphysical exploration.
Will hypnosis help me to achieve a shift in consciousness?
Hypnosis has become an increasingly popular self-improvement tool. It is regularly used in behavior modification therapy such as weight control, sports improvement, stress release, and the treatment of fears and phobias. Recently, some powerful new uses for hypnosis have come to light. One of the most publicized and popular is past-life regression. An impressive number of recently published hypnotic regressions have obtained verifiable information from past centuries, including specific names, dates, places, and events.
During several of the past-life regressions I have conducted, I have noticed a tendency for some of my clients to experience a brief state of conscious awareness. This generally occurs during the transition experienced between physical lives. With minor modifications, the induction techniques normally used in past-life regression are generally quite effective in out-of-body exploration. The basic hypnotic induction can remain the same, only the directions after the induction are changed.
Hypnosis has provided dramatic benefits. Now modern hypnosis can be used to initiate a self-controlled, out-of-body experience. It can be effective in several different areas.
Benefits of Self-Hypnosis in Out-of-body Exploration
Hypnosis can effectively induce the ideal mental state for out-of-body exploration (mind alert—body relaxed).
Hypnosis can assist in the control, reduction, and elimination of subconscious and conscious blocks, fears, and limits relating to your nonphysical experience.
Hypnotic suggestions can be effective in triggering a fully conscious out-of-body experience. For example, the hypnotic suggestions, "I become consciously aware during my dreams" and "My dreams trigger a conscious out-of-body experience" can substantially assist the dream conversion process. Suggestions such as, "After I enter sleep, I recognize and experience a fully conscious out-of-body adventure" and "Sleep triggers my out-of-body experiences" can be used to reinforce an individual's ability to positively respond to their out-of-body techniques.
Hypnosis can be used to improve visualization, concentration, and meditative skills.
Do you recommend any scripts if I want to build self-hypnosis into my consciousness practice?
I have included a sample script on this website under the Resources tab.
You may wish to record your voice with the words of this exercise. Because it is lengthy, it is possible that you will slip into an altered state during this exercise. When you use a recording, it will continue to send the message to your subconscious mind that you are committed to the practice of exploring consciousness.
You can use the one provided, have one recommended by a therapist, or create one of your own to meet your exploration goals.
How do I select a hypnotherapist to support my consciousness practice?
When selecting a trained hypnotherapist, it is recommended that you check qualifications. Many states require a certification or license. Next, inquire into areas of expertise. Some are specialists in such areas as weight control or eating disorders—focusing on physical applications. The ideal choice is someone who has an extensive background in past-life regression or life between life with knowledge of metaphysics and out-of-body exploration. Such individuals are generally more familiar with the nonphysical (thought-responsive) environments. They also possess more experience in dealing with the unique perceptions and experiences that may occur during an altered state. Often their awareness of metaphysics gives them a greater understanding of your motivations and goals regarding your nonphysical adventure.

Modern hypnosis is regularly used to reveal a previous physical life. During this process, an individual can uncover, experience, and resolve a present problem, fear, or phobia by going to the source of the dilemma.
An empowered, positive mindset is our greatest asset during all explorations of consciousness. Remain calm during all shifts of consciousness and embrace the creative power of your Higher Self. Fully accept your unlimited ability to explore beyond your physical limits and create your reality in all situations. An empowered mindset raises your personal vibrational frequency and your state of consciousness, propelling you beyond the influence of any potential issue. I do not experience negative phenomena or entities because I raise my internal vibration with my spiritual intention and my affirmations before and after separation from my body. In terms of energy—like attracts like.
